Deserted Island...

If you knew you were about to be stranded on a deserted island for the rest of your life, what would you take with you? You can pack the essentials (water, sunscreen, etc) and a few luxury items:

* 3 books (in addition to the Bible, because, hey...everyone should take the Bible!)
* 5 movies
* 5 cd's

I'm still thinking. I'd want to find a good balance of challenging stuff, fun stuff, and relaxing stuff. One book would definitely be Pride and Prejudice...it's my all-time favorite novel. I would also consider something by CS Lewis...something that would take a while to work out, you know? Movies are just too hard! I'd want to represent all genres so I'd always have something that matched my mood...The Matrix would be pretty high up there. Also Never Been Kissed for the guilty pleasure/silly romantic comedy category. Probably Pirates of the Caribbean...just for the fun of it! Music also represents a challenge. Jimmy Buffett's "Greatest Hits" for sure...I'm on an island for cryin' out loud. Then, Blindside "Silence", Copeland "Beneath Medicine Tree", hmmm...two more. More thinking required.

What would you take?

Ali - Who are you going to throw the frisbee with? Maybe you should take a boomerang instead! :)

Ashleigh - I knew you couldn't go without your sheet! LOL!

So, you guys have gotten really creative...adding "other" items and trading out some things for more of other things....very nice!

I'd take my cd player, headphones, and portable dvd player.

Somehow hook up a solar powered panel so I can recharge the bateries after they die on me, lol.

Hmmm...I'd take the Matrix box set with me, tooth brush & toothpaste from Sams club (bulk).

My beloved Army blanket, my poems & plays book, tons of bottled water, random burned cd's, and a

Starship Interprise shirt and transmita!

Books:
I'm picking boxed sets:
Jane Austin
LOTR
Narnia

Movies:
House, MD DVD (My favorite show)
Sound of Music (I love watching all those kids run around and sing)
Cast Away (It might give me some ideas on what to do on this island. And the irony is just great!)

CD's:
I'm thinking MP3 cd's... you can fit hundreds of songs on them and then we could take almost anything. You didn't limit us to what we would be playing these cds on.
